What was the highlight of Edie’s Bahay Aplaya Honda Bay
Nice house, pool and view, but needa alot to be fixed .Leaking ceiling, sewer smell,slippery stairs
Loved having the whole house with the pool and a great view of the beach. Plus my family members were able to use the kayaks. The caretakers were very nice and met edie one time and she seemed like a nice lady as well.the lay out of the house was nice. The owner let the 3 of us (me, sick 10yr old, and injured husband) stay at the house while the rest of the family toured the underground river.
I wish we were informed ahead of time that there were leaks in living room the ceiling. It's rainy season and an hour or so after Joy (the caretaker) left the ceiling started leaking a lot of water in different areas. All but 1 of the bathrooms in the house smelled like sewer the 3 days we were there. The main kitchen showed in the pictures was nice, but the sink, stove and oven was not usable. We had to do our cooking in what I believe as the staff kitchen, kinda outdoors in a way. (It was enclosed, but no a.c. ,screen doors.) The water is not drinkable and there are carafes to be filled in the bathrooms with glasses for brushing your teeth. They do bring in jugs of filtered water , that you are billed for. I wish there was a washer and dryer on the premises. The upstairs terrace had wonderful views, always had a pool of water from the rain. That is where you are supposed to hang your clothes as there were already clothes hanging there from the caretaker and plenty of clothes lines. The tiles on the terrace upstairs as well as the stairs leading to it are very slippery. My husband slipped, fell down and hit his head on the stairs (SUPER SCARY) That is the day I met Edie. She brought a first aid kit and aids said she had slipped and broken her tail bone months prior from gathering her laundry as well. They really need to put some not skid rugs or something there to prevent others from getting hurt. Also, I was informed months ahead that we were able to rent their van for the day if we needed to for 2000 pesos .We wanted to go to the city (45min drive) , i let the caretaker know we wanted to use the van. She said ok, we waited and she came back and told us 4000 pesos. For some reason their van was not available and we were forced to pay the 4000 pesos . Also, lots of sand fleas on the beach and jelly fish in the water. Nice view , nOT for swimming, unless this is a seasonal thing.

The food, staff, and view were all AMAZING!
The food, staff, and view were all AMAZING! Staff was very kind and helpful. It is a great spot to visit and relax- the perfect spot for escaping! Internet can be in and out but that helps with the relaxation. :o) Keep in mind it might be a bit tricky for tours as it is located between El Nido and about an hour away from Puerto Princesa, but it is not impossible, especially with the kind help from the owners. I went on the Underground River Tour- highly recommended! I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a break from the hustle and bustle!

Great location, some room for improvement though.
great location, the owner was exceptionally nice, the peace and quiet at times. The transfer from and to the airport was really appreciated. I was not feeling well and was grateful for a place to stay. Despite some misgivings, mainly due the wonderful owner, my wife and I would consider staying there again (if they'll have me after writing this).
the neighbours karaoke and noisy village dogs, the main staff member's terrible English and her frequent karaoke throughout the day plus her and other staff and relatives watching Filipino TV on the 1 TV when other non Filipino speaking and paying guests (up to 6) were present. Thought a bit pricy for the Philippines. Would have liked to have received a detailed invoice or receipt. Bathroom consumables not replenished unless asked. Picked up some itchy skin mites - but not sure where from - perhaps the beach? Also being asked to sign the visitor's book and make comments when checking-in - I thought was a bit premature.

Excellent 'home' away from home.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. They had a driver come and pick us up from the airport. Enjoyed the common living space which allowed us to meet and communicate with fellow travellers.
